About Us
Freeport Bait has been a staple along Freeport Boulevard for anglers in Sacramento and the greater Central Valley. We stock what works — live bait that stays alive, tackle that holds up, and the small details that make a difference on the water.
Whether you're heading to the Delta, the American River, or a private pond, we'll help you get rigged right before you leave the parking lot. No upsells, no guesswork — just honest gear and a straightforward answer to "what's biting?"

What We Carry
From worm buckets to terminal tackle, we keep the shelf stocked so you can focus on the bite.
Minnows, worms, crickets, and more — refreshed daily. We know the difference between a good hatch and a great one, and we keep only what's worth casting with.
Entry-level to enthusiast — we carry reputable brands that fit your style of fishing. Ask us for a recommendation; we'd rather you leave with the right tool than the expensive one.
Hooks, sinkers, swivels, leaders, jigs, and lures. If it ties on or hangs at the end of your line, we probably have it — and we'll help you pick the right size.
California fishing licenses and necessary endorsements available at the counter. Don't head to the water without yours — we make it quick and easy.
Keep your bait fresh and your catch cold. We carry coolers, tackle boxes, netting, and the small essentials that prevent a good day from going sideways.
Not sure what's working on the Delta this week? Ask. Our team fishes these waters and shares what we know — freely, no purchase required.
